Whether you own a business or work for someone, you have probably spent your share of time putting out fires. When a crisis hits, most people focus on ending the crisis. That’s only the first step. It’s not enough to out the fire out, you have to ensure it doesn’t reignite.
When a crisis hits, your first step is to end the crisis. The job doesn’t end there. Next you need to determine what caused the fire. How did the situation get to the point where it was a crisis? What went wrong? Once you have determined that, steps must be taken to fix the problem and keep it from reoccurring.

Processes can’t be assumed to work. They must be examined on a regular basis to keep them functioning properly.
